Free Software talks

Thursday 25th

 Presentation of Area Activities

A short talk where the organizers of the Free Software area will inform about what activities we will be conducting during the party and the latest novelties about them.

Introduction to the Fast FOSS Game

Our colleague Yawin, Scene Area Organizer, will guide us to initiate us into the Fast FOSS Game competition. In this talk, Yawin will explain his view of how to plan the development of a videogame within a limited span of time. The formulation of the activity is not as technical as it is practical and focuses on project management.

Hack It / Solve It How-to

A classic in past editions. We return with this one-hour talk where we resolve our doubts and clarify some levels, and we give advice on participating in Hack It / Solve It. Whether you have participated before or you are a first-timer, it is highly recommendable to attend in order to learn the latest developments.

At the end of this activity, we will hold the usual Hack It / Solve it start-up meeting, and the competition will begin.

Friday 26th

EuskalHack Talk: "Collaborative Strategy to Neutralize Cyberthreats"

Andoni Valverde, from the EuskalHack Association, brings us a presentation on security:

In the current panorama of cyberthreats, criminal groups have developed collaborative capacities enabling them to work in a coordinated manner, beyond technical, cultural and border restrictions. Defense teams have understood that the only way of confronting this capacity for attack is by creating an ecosystem of sharing that involves providing tools in common, generating unified processes and procedures, and in a nutshell, producing intelligence and distributing it proportionately and effectively.

Saturday 27th

 Smash CTF - Briefing

We will hold a brief Smash CTF start-up meeting where we will explain the competition, its novelties, its rules, and where you will have the chance to form teams in case you want to participate and still have none.

 Free Software EE27 Debriefing

An end to the area activities. We will hold a 1-hour meeting where we will disclose the solutions to Hack It / Solve It levels and we will have time to talk and for you to tell us your assessment of the area and of its activities.
