Modern Monitoring of VMware vSphere Environments with Grafana, InfluxDB and Telegraf

Language: Spanish

Speaker: Jorge de la Cruz

Company: Veeam Software – Blog Jorge de la Cruz

Description of the session:

In modern Data Centers, we are surrounded by a huge quantity of metrics, systems requiring our attention or monitoring, alarm and event management, etc.

In this session, we will learn how to create cool but – most importantly – useful dashboards out of the most critical vSphere assets such as hosts, VMs, clusters and data stores. The best part is that the whole monitoring system is deployable in seconds using Docker, and uses the vSphere SDK, making it non-intrusive and highly efficient.

Have I already mentioned that this entire monitoring and dashboarding process is totally free for vSphere environments?

I have written about this at: https://www.jorgedelacruz.es/2018/10/01/en-busca-del-dashboard-perfecto-influxdb-telegraf-y-grafana-parte-xii-plugin-nativo-de-telegraf-para-vsphere/

What audience does it address?

Any systems administrator or architect or data center manager who wants to know how to monitor his VMware environment free of charge.

Brief Speaker CV:

Jorge de la Cruz, vExpert since 2014, works as Systems Engineer at Veeam.
In his blog, with over 50,000 monthly visits, he regularly talks about Veeam as well as the latest news about Vmware, in addition to cloud and data center technologies and virtual laboratories, writing articles with step-by-step instructions on virtualizing, monitoring, open source code, etc.

Addictions and Videogames: Are we creating addicts?

Language: Spanish

Speaker: Jose Luis Montiel Castaño

Company: ggwp.gal / ADOS / General Physician

Description of the session:

The presentation describes the concept of addiction, phases of addiction, the concept of non-drug addictions and the mechanisms intervening in them.

The system of recompense is an innate survival mechanism in living beings that orients individuals to conduct certain acts in exchange for a pleasurable sensation caused by neurotransmitters.

This system of recompense is currently being exploited to encourage the consumption of technological leisure products (videogames, loot boxes, social networks, etc...). A continued misuse of the new technologies can consolidate the development of game or other addictions. It is essential for parents to know these mechanisms in order to detect behavioral patterns and initial phases and prevent their children from becoming addicts.

What audience does it address?

Individuals worried about the misuse of the new technologies.

Language: Spanish

Speaker: Imanol Lopez Díaz

CompanyEkobideak Koop,Elk.Txikia

Description of the session:

We all see videogames as an escape and leisure tool, but has it never happened that you sometimes found yourselves contemplating some element in a game or reading its characteristics and asking, is this not the case in our reality? Can obsidian really stand explosions? Why are we given Helix and Dome fossils on Moon Mountain? Is it normal for us to have the same types of rocks and minerals throughout the galaxy of No Man´s Sky? In this presentation, you will see and discover the geological elements existing on these 3 playable examples totally different from one another, verifying if indeed these are true, what they refer to and if in fact we could consider them transferable to our reality and conclude that thus, we are being educated indirectly.

What audience does it address?

All audiences who have been so immersed in a game that they were not conscious of the hours they were playing in a videogame environment or landscape… and who did not know this was related to the geology of our reality.
